iQOO 9 and 9pro

vivo sub-brand iQOO is getting ready to unveil its next flagship smartphone duo, comprised of the iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro. According to a leaked poster that surfaced in China today, these will become official at an event on January 5.

As you can see from the image below, the iQOO 9 has a racing stripe design and an unnecessarily huge camera island at the rear. It sports three sensors, and a lot of unused glass - maybe the other half can be used as a mirror?

A usually reliable tipster has shared the following image that's said to be of the iQOO 9 Pro, and the design is very similar except the Pro model has an exquisite dragon-like shape added in for good measure. The camera island text also confirms OIS for at least one of the sensors.

According to past rumors, leaks, and speculation, the iQOO 9 Pro should have a 50 MP main camera, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC at the helm. Display-wise, we're likely looking at a 6.78-inch QHD+ curved AMOLED with 120 Hz refresh rate. The vanilla iQOO 9, on the other hand, is expected to settle for a same-size flat screen with "just" FHD+ resolution.

The iQOO 9 is said to have a 4,700 mAh battery, the Pro being close too, and both models should charge at up to 120W.

Samsung Galaxy S22ultra gets 45W charger

Samsung will bring back the 45W charging standard to its smartphones, starting with the   Galaxy S22 Ultra,   leakster Roland Quandt reveals. He shared an image of the new PD charger with the model number EP-T4510, which will obviously be sold separately. The travel charger will come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the retail package, according to the leaked image. If the leakster is correct, this would mean we'll once again see a Galaxy smartphone with 45W charging. The last one was the  Galaxy S20 Ultra , introduced in February 2020. Back then the 45W charger would throttle extremely quickly and barely made any difference in charging speeds compared to the 25W one. The current 45W adapter looks very similar, and also comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. The main difference on the outside is the smaller size of the upcoming EP-T4510 compared to the current EP-TA845XBNG. The included cable will be 1.8 meters long, which is longer than the current 1-meter cable. The cu...
